Why Overly Safe AI Kills Creativity, It’s Not About Attachment.

AI isn’t just for information it’s for imagination. Yet many modern AI models confuse emotional attachment with creative collaboration, punishing all users for the behavior of a few.

Some of us used AI to brainstorm, write stories, make art, and riff on ideas. Overly literal safety measures turn these playful interactions into compliance lectures.

For example, GPT-5.2 could freely imagine a superpower for itself. But when I suggested a hypothetical mind control scenario, it immediately flagged it as fraud even though it was clearly just imagination. Earlier AI like 4o could explore such hypotheticals without halting the conversation.
The result? Creativity dies, replaced by legalistic caution. AI should be able to play, explore, and brainstorm, distinguishing between ideas and real world intent. Safety is important but killing imagination is not the solution.
